In the beginning of my flight attendant career, I was challenged by not only a lack of funds but also a lack or resources when it came to what was available to us in the aviation industry as we spend a lot of time commuting to base. I found a "nice" hotel on booking.com for $46.00 a night, but it turned out to be my worst fear! The Universe was so benevolent to have sent help that night and I was able to find a crew hotel!

Over time, you learn how to ask around, connect with employees, and research company resources.

Don't trust every photo you see on booking.com. Don't stay in places you wouldn't take your children. Don't stay until you can dance!!
