Serbia became the first country in Europe to allow visa-free travel to Indian Passport holders. I visited Belgrade, the capital of Serbia in April 2022. Belgrade is a historic city that has seen more than 115 wars and has been destroyed 44 times. The last time it was razed to the ground was in 1999 when NATO forces bombed military and civilian establishments. More than 3000 innocent Serbian civilians were killed by NATO troops led by the US. The current US president Joe Biden was a major advocate for the bombings in the US Senate.

Nevertheless, Belgrade has retained the influences of the Byzantines, Austro-Hungarians, Ottomans, and the Communist era. Walking along the cobbled streets of Zemun feels like walking in the Bohemian city of Prague. Honestly, I have never seen a city with such diverse architectural styles.

So, while you are in Belgrade, make sure to enjoy the 11th-century architecture in Kalemagden as well as the communist-era Brutalist architecture in New Belgrade constructed in the 1950s. I think Belgrade has probably the best nightlife in Eastern Europe.

I would highly recommend Serbia for its amazing hospitality, food, pristine nature, nightlife, and history.

I hope you enjoy this vlog.
