A very memorable day trip ???????????? Melk Abbey is called a Baroque jewel of the Wachau Valley in Lower Austria and, according to some sources, most visited Unesco heritage ⭐️⭐️ Only an hour-long train ride away from Vienna, the Abbey stands on the bank of Danube river majestically towering over a charming town of Melk.
The complex is very impressive in its size, but nothing prepared me for the opulence and grandeur of the church located in the heart of the Melk Abbey ???????????????? I also visited the North Bastion for views over the town and the meditative garden Pavilion. Taking a walk around town, I found that the best views of the Melk Abbey are from the south side, by Biraco Kaserne. For those who love hiking, there is a number of hiking paths available from Melk down and up the Danube. All in all, an absolute feast for the eyes ❤️❤️❤️
