Early in the morning we departed to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, the Bavarian Alps! Adolf Hitler chose this place as his home and we visited the ruins of his home, the Bergof. We then took a special bus up a narrow twisting road to the top of the mountain to Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest. The Eagle’s Nest was a birthday gift to Hitler but he rarely visited it even though it was just above his home. You walk through a tunnel to the original elevator and up to some of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen. I’ve been here before in 2016, but the weather was nowhere close to how amazing it was for us this trip. If you are in Bavaria, I strongly suggest it! We then crossed the border into Austria to visit Salzburg, which is one of the prettiest European cities I’ve been to with many fountains and amazing churches. The city is Salzburg translates to Salt Castle. Scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed here and you will see some of the fountains used in the film and the cemetery they based the set on for the end of the film as they were escaping. If you’re ever in Salzburg, I suggest you visit St. Peter’s church. If you enjoy my videos and learning a little history along the way, please subscribe to my channel! @eftours
