Kazakhstan-Austria trade turnover exceeds $300 million

Kazakhstan and Austria intend to deepen their cooperation. Priority areas include collaboration in mining, infrastructure, tourism, and education. This was discussed during talks in Astana between the foreign ministers of the two countries. Yermek Kosherbayev and Beate Meinl-Reisinger also focused on expanding transport and logistics partnership, including the development of the Middle Corridor and participation in the Global Gateway initiative. This opens up new opportunities for business. The Ministers also emphasized their intention to further develop cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Notably, Kazakhstan and Austria established diplomatic relations more than 30 years ago. Around 400 Austrian companies operate in Kazakhstan, along with a number of joint ventures. Last year, trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $300 million. Since 2005, direct investment from Austria into Kazakhstan’s economy has totaled more than $3 billion.
