If you're looking for a hike in Austria, this is one you should definitely not miss!

We're deep in the Austrian Alps, at the base of Austria's highest mountain, Grossglocker. To get here, we drove up the eponymous Grossglocker High Alpine Road and parked at the visitor centre at Kaiser Franz Josefshöhe. From there, we hiked down the valley to get up close to what is left of the glacier, and then further down, following the meltwater. The climb back up was quite the challenge, with a few surprises waiting for us!

This was a stunning hike, featuring loads of amazing views. It was really quite shocking for us to see how much the glacier had receded in just a few years.
