Hi guys! Welcome to the first episode from the SI15 series from SLOVENIA! In this episode, let's take in the sights of Ljubljana's gorgeous old town. For a European capital city, it's incredibly compact and walkable, with a relaxed cafe culture and lots of al fresco dining by the side of the river...

It's one of the most affluent cities in eastern Europe that enjoys great shopping, coffee and is ideally located to continue your journey to many distinctly different other parts of Europe within a 2 hour drive... whether that's the mountains of Austria, the romantic city of Venice, further east to Budapest, or deeper into the former Yugoslav and Balkan nations such as the stunning Croatian coastline.

Slovenia and Ljubljana are often overlooked on European tourist trails in favour of more well-known destinations, but Ljubljana defies its relative obscurity with the old town's stunning architecture, distinct seasons and quality of life. I can't recommend it highly enough if you want an affordable and truly relaxed city break in the heart of Europe.
