Mittenwald is a town in the Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the upper Isar valley, about 80 kilometers south of Munich between the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains and immediately on the border with Austria. This town is Germany's highest climatic health resort due to its climate and air which is conducive to health. This is the last village in Germany that is famous for making violins.

Leutaschklamm or Leutascher Geisterklamm gorge is located on the border of Germany and Austria. This is the longest accessible gorge which is 1650 meters long. And one of the surprising features of the gorge is that it is family-friendly. A metal grate bridge (970 m) is built on the rocks to access the gorge.
