Stanislav Osadchiy, Russia's Ambassador to Cyprus, has said, in a meeting with a nearby news source, that the Republic of Cyprus and other European nations who have forced sanctions on his country over its intrusion of Ukraine have 'messed themselves up.'

Osadchiy lets his questioner know that Russian traveler won't appear in Cyprus in the mid year and that they will go to Turkey all things being equal.

"If you were to ask me actually, (monetary approvals) don't concern us. Tragically, I think Europeans are messing themselves up. Where will they observe gaseous petrol, oil, wheat, how might Cyprus get Russian travelers? Russian sightseers won't come. Where will these travelers go? They'll go to Turkey, you need that? They'll burn through cash there. Summer is coming. You have closed down Cyprus' airspace? You have messed youselves up," Osadchiy says, in familiar Greek, in a clasp from the meeting posted on twitter by Yiota Hadjicosta, a columnist with Cyprus' Politis paper.

"#Russian Ambassador to Cyprus transparently undermined #Cyprus in a meeting with a neighborhood news source. Mind blowing! #Ukraine #Russia," Hadjicosta tweeted.

Osadchiy, 71, has been Ambassador to Cyprus starting around 2013; preceding that, he was Ambassador to Austria and diplomat general in Hamburg, Germany and Istanbul.

Cyprus, alongside each of the 27 EU individuals, has shut its airspace to Russian planes.
