Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart, is the fourth-largest city in Austria (after Vienna, Graz and Linz) and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. It is situated in central Austria, near the German (Bavarian) border with a population of some 150,000 in 2013. It’s name literally means "Salt Fortress". The historic centre of the city, with its rich mix of art and architecture, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1996.
