The hills are alive with the sounds of... Next Stop Everywhere! Our amazing Austrian adventure comes to end here but, talk about ending on a high!

*** This video was recorded during the summer, before Austria's rise in Covid-19 cases, curfew and lockdown ***

First up, savour the incredible views of a trip over the famed Grossglockner High Alpine Road, and stunningly beautiful it is too - with its twists, turns, accents and descents, it's like a ribbon of tarmac draped over the mountains!

We drove up to its highest point of 2504m (which took a while!), parked up and took in the views. Austria's tallest mountain, the Grossglockner, (from which the roads takes its name) creates an incredible backdrop as you wind your way up and down this amazing driving experience. If you love stunning views, and the brakes of your motorhome are good, then do it... it's a road like no other in Austria, and a trip not to be missed. We paid €37 for a day ticket over the mountains (it's a toll road) but for the dizzying heights, beautiful sights and sense-of-motorhoming-achievement, it's well worth it!

Then, we arrive into the iconic Austrian city of Salzburg - famed for being the birthplace of the 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - in fact, because of its history, culture, and attractions, Salzburg has been labeled Austria's "most inspiring city." But, we weren't necessarily here for that... we are Next Stop Everywhere after all... so join us on a tour of the sights and sites of possibly one of the most famous movies of all time "The Sound of Music" - set and filmed in the city in 1964. It's one of Claire's absolute favourites so we HAD to stop and pay our respects - and look at Salzburg through our own, very different, viewpoint! All together now... "Do, a deer, a female deeerrrrr..."

Finally, for a bit of high octane action, we stop off at the brilliant 'Red Bull Ring' in Spielburg. Founded as Österreichring (translation: Austrian Circuit), it hosted the Austrian F1 Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from 1970 to 1987, and again from 1997 to 2003. It was then purchased by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz and rebuilt, renamed the Red Bull Ring and has hosted Formula One again since the 2014 season. There's also a great little museum, and we happened to arrive on the practice day of a race meeting too - enjoy the sights and sounds!

Enjoy, and join us for our Next Stop... Everywhere!
