Walk by yourself Tour, no need for guide, that's US ???????? You can do this too ????

Part of our 4 week road trip to Europe, we drove from Hallstatt to Salzburg. Parking was easy at Zentrum Car park, was empty when we reached. Took a park and ride ticket, costs 15 E for two of us for whole day. Need to research on the walking needed to get to see places close and personal, we walked over 10 Kms, you can do it slow n easy. The buses ply from one end to another, we got at the far end, walked back. Was worth every step of the way.

Suggest you take this route or reverse. We used GMaps to walk to these places. The Plaza for a bite or drink, Mozart's house, Monchsberg Mountain and the castle, he Muellnersteg pedestrian bridge and the love lock bridge for awesome views into the river. You can walk down and take a cruise too. And finally (for us) the Mirabell Palace, awesome place to spend at least 3-4 hours. This is the place where many scenes from Sound of Music was shot, you can sit on one of the benches, time just melts away! A must see place and if you are shutterbug, a whole day may not be enough!

As you walk by, on the route above, you will cover most of the important places of Salzburg on a one day tour. The Park n Ride is value for money, you can get in and out of the bus many times, but we found, the walking route is away from bus route and walking is best to get a look see the places. The plaza is electric, lots of shopping places, eating places and opps to burst serious money in the perfume shops :)
