Slovenia is fighting one of the country's worst natural disasters in modern times. Heavy rains in the northern and central parts of the country have caused severe flooding which have led to locals and tourists alike being evacuated. Slovenia has requested aid from the EU and NATO in order to combat the crisis. The neighboring country of Austria has also been affected.
