SLOVENIA'S FAIRY TALE ISLAND! LAKE BLED SLOVENIA

Lake Bled Slovenia looks like a scene from a fairy tale! Bled Island sits in the middle of Lake Bled’s emerald waters surrounded by Bled Castle and stunning landscapes.

We took a day trip to Lake Bled from Ljubljana, Slovenia by train. We had a few hiccups, but finally made it Slovenia’s most beautiful destination – Lake Bled!

First on our list was a boat ride to Bled Island. We boarded our boat and set sail to the gorgeous Slovenian Island on Bled Lake! The views from the boat in the middle of the lake are beautiful and shouldn’t be skipped. Once on Lake Bled Island, we ate Potica and got coffee on the island’s only café, then explored Bled Island and the church.

Next, we grabbed a delicious vegan lunch at Public Bar & Vegan Kitchen in Bled. The food was wonderful and Ashley got to try a fun Slovenian drink called Cockta!

Afterwards, we hiked up the trail to Bled Castle. Once to the top, we made our way inside the fairy tale castle. Bled Castle has so much history and is stunning sitting atop the mountain overlooking Lake Bled. You must visit this castle to get the best views of Lake Bled and Bled Island! You won’t regret it.

To end our day trip to Bled, we went to the Park Café to try the Original Bled Cream Cake. We heard the Bled cake was the most delicious cake in the world and it did not disappoint! We were also surprised to learn that the Park Café’s ice cream won the title of the world’s best ice cream. So, of course, we got the ice cream too! It’s called “Sladogled” ice cream, so be sure to ask for that along with the Bled Cream Cake!
