In the summer of 2024, I somehow found myself more than halfway across the world in Austria.
I remember landing in Salzburg mostly feeling scared. I checked into a hostel for the first time and slowly met other travellers who were all figuring things out too. At first I followed the strict schedule I had planned for myself… until I realised it didn’t really matter.
The day I got a bad cold in Innsbruck, I ended up ditching the plan and jumping into the lake instead. That’s when I realised solo travelling was teaching me something I didn’t expect, how to be spontaneous and how to be okay when things don’t go exactly my way.
Also… I just realised I spelled Innsbruck as “Innsbruck” the entire video. Premiere Pro somehow discovered my illegitimate 2017 download & cut off my subscription so I can't edit it now gg :/ ... pls sponser me
Anyway, if you’re thinking about doing something scary, like travelling alone or swimming in a random lake while you have the medieval plague, maybe this is your sign. Step outside, get a little lost, and learn to feel comfortable in your own company.
