August 1 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Taiwan, it was marked by President Tsai Ing-wen as she traveled to the south, where most of the country's Indigenous people live. Taiwan and Somaliland have signed an MOU on trade and business, a symbolic move for two de facto states that lack wider diplomatic recognition. And Joyce Tseng looks at what effects China's new export controls on gallium and germanium will have on international chipmakers.
