The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is not only an Austrian monument and a masterpiece of road construction. Above all, it offers visitors a nature experience that is unparalleled in Austria. From the ticket office in Ferleiten (Fusch on the Grossglocknerstraße), the road leads through striking natural landscapes, past dense forests, up to lush green alpine meadows and finally through rugged rocky landscapes. Up to the Kaiser Franz Josef Höhe at the foot of Austria's highest mountain: the Grossglockner, with its majestic 3,798 meters.
