Venezuela: Maduro concludes election campaign, says he steps down if PSUV loses

The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) concluded the election campaign for the legislative elections scheduled for December 6, with an event led by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, in Caracas on Thursday. Maduro is also the president of the PSUV.

Maduro was seen cheerful, greeting the crowds from the stage.

"If we win, we won, and if we lose, we lose. And if we lose I will leave Miraflores [presidential palace] that same Sunday, but if we win I will be waiting for you in Miraflores to celebrate the popular victory on Sunday, December 6 in the streets, with great joy," said Maduro.

Sunday legislative elections will be held in Venezuela to renew the National Assembly. Politicians loyal to opposition leader Juan Guaido denounced the election as fraudulent.
