I finally discovered Eisenstadt. It is just appr. 1 hour and 15 mins from Vienna and is located close to the Hungarian border. The Neusiedler lake with its vineyards is close by. So fall is a perfect season to visit.
Two main names come up: Esterhazy and Joseph Haydn.
Despite being small Eisenstadt offers a lot of sights to discover.

I also visited a farmers' market in Eisenstadt where I could discover many local specialities.
