Hey guys, we’ve been on a short winter getaway to the dreamy valley of Bad Gastein in our beautiful home country Austria. The little spa and ski town is located in the High Tauern (Hohe Tauern) mountains in the south of Salzburg. The remote village is known for the waterfall plummeting through Gastein’s Belle Époque hotels and villas built on its picturesque steep, forested slopes as well as the healing powers of its thermal spring water. In the 19th century Bad Gastein became a hotspot for various European monarchs and notable guests such as Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi).

In the midst of this sleepy village, the Cōmodo, a new luxury design hotel, opened its doors in January 2023. The 70-rooms hotel is a former health resort from the 60s inspiring its mid-century interior design which is an ode to this decade. We spent a few nights in the spacious Mountain Suite including a culinary package composed by a Berlin-based chef.

Bad Gastein has regained its popularity in recent years and is becoming more vibrant again, definitely a place worth to visit. I hope you enjoy watching! ????
