November is hands down the worst time of the year to be in Moscow. You have the first snowfalls, it starts getting cold but not cold enough for the snow not to melt forcing you to dodge huge muddy puddles even when you just go to the shop. That is why most of the people living in Moscow usually leave for warmer and sunnier destinations. Of course this year, with no chance of going abroad, most people have opted for a destination well within the borders of Russia, which during the summer offers great beaches on the shore of the Black Sea, but is also a popular destination for winter tourism, with the Caucasus mountains not far. Ladies and gentleman, let me take you with me today as we travel to Sochi and go on holiday like true Russians do.

Today I'm for the first time flying Nordwind, this cool domestic Russian airline, and I'm flying for the first time from Sheremetyevo Airport. The landing over Sochi was spectacular, as we approached the airport over the Black Sea. Also it was great to feel the contrast between the dark, snowy landscape of a cold Moscow morning before departure and the sunny, warm weather of Sochi.

However, it was not to the beach that I went rightaway: instead, I booked for myself a cozy weekend in a hotel in Krasnaya Polyana. Krasnaya Polyana is indeed considered to be the best town resort in Russia, some 30 kilometres from the shore of the Black Sea into the Caucasus. It is also one of the most expensive town resorts in Russia: fortunately for me I found some really great offers for the end of November.

The base village of Krasnaya Polyana is at 540 metres altitude, and that's where a cool Armenian taxi driver agreed to take me for 1500 rubles (around £15). My hotel was at 960 metres however, and I had to take a free cable line to reach the hotel and with it enjoy amazing views over the Caucasus.

The Gorki Panorama offers great views and extremely comfortable rooms. The Spa, with a large swimming pool and two saunas is often included in the tariffs.

WHO AM I?
I started making videos for Youtube when I was a university student. I was always trying to find cheap getaways to do some traveling in spite of the adversities put in place by being a broke university student living on their own! Traveling became more and more a fundamental passion of mine, and now that I'm gradually moving on to make a job out of it I couldn't be happier, and I can only continue making this kind of videos both for mine and your enjoyment!

I also run an ONLINE SHOP with TRAVEL MERCHANDISE, feel free to check it out here ???? https://bit.ly/2x1Zzjf
