Zugspitze, with an altitude of 2962 m above sea level, is the highest peak in Germany and the Wetterstein Mountains, Eastern Alps, Germany. The Zugspitze massif is located southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria and north of Tyrol. The western part is crossed by the border between Germany and Austria.
