Normally, on Valentine's Day, we simply drive into town and eat at a restaurant of our choice. But this year, 2026, everything was different, because my husband had booked a room in a four-star hotel in Walchsee, Austria. On Valentine's Day, we had to leave early, as a parade was taking place in Walchsee at 2:00 p.m., and the road to the hotel was closed. Since we arrived before noon, we had lunch at an Italian restaurant. After lunch, we watched the parade and then checked into the hotel, where we would be spending the night, as we had celebrated Valentine's Day in the hotel restaurant. We had dinner there, and the next morning we had breakfast at the buffet before starting our journey back home.
