For such a tiny country, Slovenia sure packs in a whole lot. Often overlooked because of its big-name neighbors, Italy, Austria, Croatia, and to an extent, even Hungary, Slovenia delivers on so many levels that we are surprised it isn't more popular. From cute-as-a-button capital Ljubljana (populationL under 300,000), to majestic Lake Bled, or untouched Lake Bohinj, wine regions in the north of the country, the Julian Alps and Soca River Valley, to Venetian-flavored Piran on the coast, you could spend weeks discovering Slovenia and still want to come back for more. This video is just a sampler of the delights of Slovenia.

And we didn't even mention the food. Recently Slovenian gastronomy is getting worldwide recognition, and there should really be no surprise. Take the influences of all those neighbors, throw in the diverse climate zones the country enjoys, and add in some top-class culinary skill, and you have Slovenia.
