The journey showcases traditional Tyrolean villages, frozen reservoirs, high mountain passes, and dramatic alpine landscapes covered in snow.

The drive begins in Fügen, one of the largest villages in the Zillertal region of Tyrol. Located at the entrance of the valley, Fügen is surrounded by the Zillertal Alps (Zillertaler Alpen) and the Tux Alps, an area well known for skiing, alpine farming, and classic wooden chalets.

Following road B169 (Zillertalstraße), the route continues north through the wide Zillertal Valley. At 05:35, the village of Uderns appears, set among open fields and gentle slopes beneath the surrounding alpine peaks. This area offers clear views of the valley floor framed by steep mountain walls on both sides.

At 15:30, the drive passes Zell am Ziller, the historical and cultural center of the Zillertal. The town lies at the foot of the Gerlos Pass road and marks the transition from the flatter valley to more mountainous terrain. From here, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic as the road begins to climb.

By 21:00, the route reaches Hainzenberg, a sunny hillside village overlooking Zell am Ziller. This section provides panoramic views of the Zillertal Valley, with snow-covered forests and alpine pastures stretching toward the peaks of the Zillertal Alps.

At 35:30, the scenery changes as the drive approaches a high alpine reservoir (Stausee). Surrounded by steep slopes and rugged terrain, this area reflects the raw beauty of the alpine environment, especially striking in winter when ice and snow dominate the landscape.

At 36:28, the road arrives in Gerlos and begins crossing the famous Gerlospass, located at an elevation of around 1,531 meters. This mountain pass connects Tyrol with the Salzburg region and offers spectacular views of the Hohe Tauern mountain range, one of the most impressive alpine ranges in Austria.

At 51:10, the route officially enters the state of Salzburg, where the alpine character becomes even more pronounced. The surrounding peaks, deep valleys, and dense forests highlight the transition between regions while maintaining the same dramatic alpine atmosphere.

Finally, at 55:45, the drive reaches the Mautstelle Gerlos Alpenstraße, the toll station for the famous panoramic road leading toward the Krimml Waterfalls area. This section of road is known for its breathtaking viewpoints, glacier-fed streams, and direct views toward the Hohe Tauern National Park.
