Sound of music... Maria, I Have Confidence, Sixteen Going on Seventeen... These are a few of the songs that bring old memories back. I spent 6 hours hiking around Salzburg, Austria, to see as many locations of the film as possible. Most Germans or Austrians have not heard about the movie let alone the von Trapp family. It's been more than 55 years but Salzburg has not gotten older. In the film the family in the end escape by walking. over the Untersberg, but that would lead them straight to the Nazis.

For the hike, I started Frohnburg villa half of their house, at Hellbrunn palace from the gazebo. Then head back to Leopoltskron palace for the other side of their house in the movie. After that to the castle the nunnery Nonntal. Then the old city center, were I saw the Festspielhaus and other things that were part of the film. Finally Mirabell place.
