TRIESTE is located in the northeastern part of Italy near Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia. The city has unique architecture due to its Austrian-Hungarian Empire heritage. Trieste enjoys beautiful natural location as it is surrounded by the Karst Plateau and the Adriatic Sea. It is also known as the European City of Science because of numerous scientific institutions that can be found here.

DISCLAIMER: FVG regional government announced eased restrictions from April 27, almost 2 months after whole Italy went into lockdown in response to COVID-19 pandemic. Residents of Trieste can now go for walks in the entire city given that they should wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

If the situation permits, add Trieste to your Italy itinerary. I swear, its pretty hard not to fall in love with this city.
