Hiking along the World Cultural Heritage Semmering Railway - The first mountain railway in Europe, designed by Carl Ritter von Ghega, went into operation in 1854. From the train station Semmering (896 m) leads a well marked trail to the train station Breitenstein (791m). Among the many vistas along the easy trail is the so called 20-Schilling-Blick, pointing at an area of the railway depicted on the back of the former Austrian 20-Schilling note.
